Dr. Angeles is an expert in ruminant nutrition and an advocate of the development of the local dairy industry. He served as the Director of the Dairy Training and Research Institute (DTRI) in UP Los Baños. As an accomplished researcher, he was able to produce numerous articles and scholarly papers about basic and applied animal nutrition. As part of his service to the public, he was invited as a resource person in various professional, technical, and scientific conferences and participated in several research and extension training workshops. His latest accomplishments include the 2019 CAFS Outstanding Researcher Award (Senior Faculty Category), and the 2019-2021 UP Scientific Productivity System (SPS) Award with the rank of UP Scientist I. He also received the Philippine Society of Animal Science (PSAS) Most Outstanding Teacher in Animal Science, and the Outstanding Animal Nutritionist Awards in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
