Biosketch

Dr. Maria Catalina T. de Luna is a veterinarian, educator, researcher, and public servant specializing in Animal Physiology and Animal Welfare from the Institute of Animal Science, College of Agriculture, and Food Science, UPLB.

She became a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), UPLB in 2006 where she served as CVM College Secretary from 2011-2019. She transferred to IAS, CAFS last February 2023 and is now a member of the Animal Physiology Division. She is currently the Director of the UP Professional School for Agriculture and the Environment. Dr. de Luna is currently involved with programs focused on farm animal welfare and organic agriculture. As a Livestock and Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS) trainor, she was lead volunteer in the 2020 Project Taal Emergency Animal Response team.
